Ice-Skating/Fireworks at Old Port

Ice Skating & Fireworks

Whether it's summer or winter, there's always something to do at Old Port of Montreal.
We decided to go for ice skating and fireworks on a Saturday night. One of my friends brought her adorable toddler and I brought my 14-yeear-old brother. It was really cold that day, so my sister and I decided to sit inside and drink hot chocolate with my friend and her daughter. My brother joined my other friends for ice-skating.

TELUS Fire on Ice

They had fireworks at 8 PM on certain dates: December 14th, 21st, 28th and January 4th.
We went on December 21st, so we were able enjoy the fireworks that night. Even though
some of us didn't skate, we were glad we saw the fireworks. There was music in the
background, which added a great touch.

Outdoor Ice Skating
There is a fee to go to the skating rink (you can read about their prices here). You can bring your own skates and/or rent your own. There's an indoor area where you can wear your skates.

It was very busy especially since there were fireworks that night.
Make sure you dress warmly because it can be very cold but once you do skate, you don't feel the cold as much. I did regret not skating that night but I'm planning on going back next year. The view was just so beautiful!

Bistro des Terrasses Bonsecours
If you need to take a break from skating or simply keep yourself warm, you can go there and/or grab something to eat and drink. We got hot chocolate with whipped cream, which was good. We were luck enough to find a table but there was a woman with her young daughter sitting with us, which wasn't bad at all. They made a good company.
