Rudsak Sample Sale

RUDSAK SAMPLE SALE

Last week, I went on Rudsak's website to look for spring jackets and I saw that they are having a sample sale from April 3rd to April 6th. I've heard about their sales but I just never really took the time to find out when exactly these sales occur. Well now I know that Rudsak usually has these sample sales during the months of April and October.

Here's some information about the sale:

  • SALE: 50% to 70% off
  • WHEN: April 3rd to April 6th 2014
    • April 3rd: 10:00 to 21:00
    • April 4th: 10:00 to 21:00
    • April 5th: 10:00 to 17:00
    • April 6th: 10:00 to 17:00
  • WHERE: 9160 St-Laurent Blvd., Montreal, H2N 1M9
  • PAYMENT METHODS ACCEPTED: Debit, Credit and Cash (you get 5% off if you pay cash)

I've never bought anything from Rudsak. I liked one of their spring jackets last year but I didn't get it because it was pricey. I love investing my money in a good winter jacket but for spring/autumn, I usually get it from Le Chateau, Zara, Dynamite, etc.

Nonetheless, I decided to check their sale out with my best friend. It was both our first time going there, so we didn't really know what to expect...

Arrival & Parking
We got there at around 8PM. When we first drove past it, we saw the line outside the store and we weren't sure if we wanted to wait that long but we decided to give it a try. We found parking about 2 blocks away. As we walked towards the store, we saw so many people coming out with bags, so we had hopes of finding something..

Outside Lineup
Luckily, it wasn't cold today (hoping it stays like this now), so we didn't have a problem waiting outside. We didn't wait too long either.. We waited about 10-15 minutes outside max and walked inside..

Inside Lineup
When we walked inside, we saw another lineup that started from bottom of the stairs leading up to their 2nd floor.

  • ContestThey also had contest forms and pens on a table. After filling the form, you can put it in a box and have your chance to win $1,000 shopping spree at Rudsak. You can also enter online on their website

Let the Shopping Begin
We waited another 10-15 minutes and we walked in. The place was packed! So many people everywhere! Normally, I don't like shopping when there's a big crowd but we didn't really have hard time browsing through their items.

  • Spring Jackets: I checked their spring jackets but I didn't really like them. There was one but it was about $187 (without taxes). I wasn't in love with it, so I didn't buy it.
  • Winter Jackets:
I actually liked some of their winter jackets. I didn't really look through them though because I love my Mackage jacket and I'm planning on using it for next winter.

If you are looking for winter jackets, then I would suggest you to check their sample sales. They have one in October though, maybe it would be better to go then.
  • Shoes/Boots:
They had some shoes and boots. We quickly browsed through the items but I didn't like either of them.
  • Accessories:
They had scarves, wallets, cosmetic case, Ipad Case, Passport case, etc. I didn't like most of their accessories but their scarves weren't so bad. They didn't have much variety though.

Surprisingly, I found few items...
I ended up getting 2 scarves for about $10 each. The price was good and I will definitely be wearing them since it's spring (hopefully no more snow storms).

My favorite item of all...
I also overheard someone say "passport case," so we asked the employee. She was very helpful and told us where to find it. They was only 1 left and my friend quickly reached out and grabbed it (she's the best lol). I actually wanted to get it for my sister who is travelling soon but when I saw it was red, I just had to get it for myself because I love red and I immediately fell in love with it!

Payment
They accept debit, credit and cash. If you pay cash, then you get 5% off. They have an ATM upstairs, so you can take cash out. I didn't have cash and didn't want to withdraw money from ATM, so I just used my credit card.

15% coupon
I also got a coupon that gives 15% off on regular priced items that can be redeemed from April 14th to May 4th 2014. I doubt I will be using it but I'll browse through their items online.

And that was it...
As we walked out, a guy stopped us and checked the receipt and items. Then, we went downstairs and it was about 9 PM, so it was pretty much empty at that point.

Is the Sale worth it?

I personally didn't like most of their items. If I were to buy a winter jacket, I would most likely go there to buy one. Some of my friends own Rudsak jackets and they are happy with them. I would suggest anyone who is looking to invest in a good winter jacket to check out this sale because the prices are significantly lower than their regular priced items.
